So my roommate Daniel gave me a dollar to write him a poem a day for a month, really a trick to keep me writing that I'm grateful for. To keep me honest, I'm posting them here, but because most of them are terrible, I'm hiding them in extra pages that are down below the "Links" section in the sidebar on the right there. So if you feel like reading my bad poetry, have at it, and please nag me if I fall behind.
In the meantime, though, I kinda like this one from Feb 10. So it makes the main page. Happy Thursday! ~Alissa
quiet like childhood
Sunshine.
Few cars.
All the adults
are at work
all the kids
are at school
all the retired people
taking their afternoon naps
Alissa alone,
walking up the hill.
All these streets are mine,
she is thinking.
All these lawns.

A paean to playing hooky?
Nu? What happened to the rest of the poems? Did you finish out the month? If not, next time you should have to pay him a dollar every day you don't write one. Somehow I often find that works better.
